Who are we?

About

Heather Knoll Cluster was built in the early 1990’s and is “self-managed” by a five-member all volunteer Board. Our community is comprised of 13 buildings, each containing 4 townhouses for a total of 52 units. The Heather Knoll Cluster Association (HKCA) is an incorporated entity in Virginia, under the umbrella of the Reston Association and bound by Virginia laws. There are several documents that direct the governance activities of the HKC Board which can be review under the Community Governance section of this website.

These documents outline specific rules the Board must follow when it comes to overseeing the operations of HKC. Most were put in place by the developer when our Cluster was built in the early 1990’s. The HKC Bylaws and Rules & Regulations are “living documents” that are refined by the Board to reflect current HKC operations.
